NC visit

I was very lucky to be able to visit my siblings in the East this spring.  It took major planning to make sure things ran smoothly at home while I was gone, but I have great friends and neighbors as well as an amazing husband who made it possible.  Of course as I was packing Zach started acting sick and had a fever when I was leaving.  So Jacob took some sick days from work and actually got to stay home with the kids a few days.
Ani was an amazing host and we had a great time letting the girls play together and making some cute hair bows.  Here are some pictures from our tour of Duke campus and mostly the campus gardens.

Traveling double in a single stroller!

We found this cute wall hidden behind a stairwell in an outdoor mall.

Camilla posing by the sign with 15 cent hamburgers!

Twin outfits from their awsome Nana Jewel.
Matching bows from their crafty moms

University of North Carolina's basketball museum, which is actually very interesting.  Lots of NBA players come from UNC and they have fun displays of the evolution of uniforms and stats.  Thanks Daniel for suggesting it!

A historical farm where a treaty was signed for the civil war.  It was a fun walk in the woods.

Tirzah is done with the exploring and Camilla is just pretty chill.

So glad we could come hang out at your house.

Thanks Daniel, Ani and Camilla!

2012 feb snowman

You would think that living in the frozen north we would make a million snowmen a year.  The truth is it is most often TOO cold to make a snowman and we have to wait until the end of winter when it is a little bit warmer.  Add to that the need for fresh snow and we have only a handful of opportunities to make snowmen.
Here are the ones for the 2011-2012 winter.
A snowman and a snowdog.
In the first picture the kids are on their way to school.  Yes, we have to fully suit up in winter gear everyday for school!  It makes for a lot of wet, soggy clothes drying all over the place every night to get ready for the next day of recess play outside.

One more picture with the snowcreations after school and with Zach this time.
