Thanksgiving

This is our wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with Jake and Bonnie in California. We had a great time just enjoying them at their beautiful home. Rylie watched movies with Bonnie; and Mason, well he was another story all together. He got the stomach flu the Saturday before Thanksgiving and was still sick the day we left. Each day and the every hour leading up to the time we needed to leave, Jacob and I kept saying it can't last much longer. He should be better by tomorrow or by tonight or maybe in a few minutes. Well we packed a throw up bucket for the 9 hour drive and pushed on.
The kids and I traveled a lot this summer in the car and we have a pretty good routine down. This however was THE WORST car ride I have ever had. We should have turned around 10 minutes down the road and stayed home, but we didn't.
This picture sums up how Mason felt the whole time we were there. Thankfully we didn't leave any germs at Jake and Bonnie's home and no one else got sick.
Bedtime stories with Grandpa Jake.
Rylie LOVED this little bike and Grandpa's back yard to ride it in. She was so warm and cuddly with Bonnie. It was fun to see how comfortable Rylie was with her and how freely she gave her love. Bonnie has ALS and is no longer able to eat or talk. That didn't matter to Rylie, though. She loved cuddling on the couch and watching movies together.
Even though it was a rough trip to California it was well worth it. Our visit with Jacob's dad and Bonnie was wonderful. The kids (well Rylie mostly) had a great time at their house.

Poor little Mason!! He even looks all skinny. There's nothing worse than puking kids, especially when you can't really just drop everything for it!

Poor Mason!! We had a trip like that to St. George. Avri threw up all the way down. At first we thought it was car sickness, and then when we got down there each and every one of us got the most disgusting flu thing that I've ever had, it was so MISERABLE. And I felt so bad for our hosts. Oh well. I guess it gives us stories to tell.
