We had a great Thanksgiving. My parents came out to visit with Carson, Tanner and Olivia. It was quite a change from the norm for us. We are usually the ones to pack up and drive for a holiday visit. After having a chance to host the party I am not sure which one is easier.
It is a plus to be in your own home, and not have to plan for a week in advance what every possible need could be for yourself and 3 kids and then pack it in your car.
It was eye opening, though, to prepare my house for guests and do the holiday food shopping. I actually had to use 2 carts at Walmart!! And I was only feeding 10 people.
Either way it is worth it to be with fun family members and make some good memories.
I wanted to relive an old game we used to play with cousins. You place a penny in the bottom of a cup and fill it with flour, then carefully tip the cup upside down on a tray and remove it. Then you each take a turn cutting off a small, or large, slice of flour. If you make the penny fall then you get to retrieve it with your mouth. It was just as fun as I remember!
Here is a little of what we found to do in our new neighborhood with our guests.
Frisbee Golf
(while our turkey was cooking)

We had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks to my mom who brought her recipes, just the right spices, new dishes, and her confidence and help in the heat of the morning.

Zach mostly just ate the chocolate covered pilgram hat and pickles!
There were some climbers on it and we sat and watched them for quite a while.

These three are inseparable when they are together. Olivia is such a great Aunt to Rylie and Mason. They hang on her every word. I don't think I had to get them into bed once while she was at our house. She can get their pajamas on, teeth brushed, story read and tucked into bed before I even know what is happening.
