About Jacob

Jacob and I made two large purchases this weekend and throughout the process I learned a few things about my husband.
The first was a minivan. We tried to get all three car seats across the back of the Camry last week and realized how miserable it would be for kids and parents. Our purchase of a new car became a need instead of a want. So now that we live in the middle of nowhere, major purchases have to be made after hours of driving. We looked online and found our dream car in Phoenix. We made a quick over nighter to go pick it up. So after having the new car for four days guess who hasn't even held the keys yet. Yep, me. I am not complaining, I just find it interesting. After all I was the one who picked it out. I am not worried, I know I will eventually log many miles in the driver seat.
The next was a vacuum. Yes that couldn't have died three weeks ago when we lived in a real city. We had to add that to the list of things to get in Phoenix, along with diaper and wipes from Costco. This is what I found hilarious. When Jacob and I realized we would have to buy a new one he said,"Oh, good I know just what I want." My mouth dropped open. Jacob is very helpful, but the last time he touched the vacuum was to dust the inside of his computer. I made it very clear that if he was so picky about the vacuum he would be sharing the use of it a lot more from now on.
Interesting in how things work out.

Ha ha that is pretty funny...since he got the vacuum he wants sounds like you're going to let him use it :)

I think that our vacum is going to break too, but I will be careful about telling Nicole I want to pick out the new one if that's how it works

I think you have touched on a very interesting phenomenon. Maybe alot of husbands are like that. Congrats on the mini-van. When we bought our school bus (aka suburban) Kim was way jealous that I got to drive it home from SLC. It's so good to hear from you. I Can't wait to hear about the new little guy!

Great to read about your adventures. I've wondered what you were up to during your "vacation".
It sounds like you're adjusting to all the changes in life pretty well. Fun to have some new things. I too find it strange what husbands suddenly have strong opinions about. Good luck with the new arrival; can't wait to hear about and see your new baby boy:)
