My cousins made the long drive (7-9 hours) to meet us at Mt. Rushmore (1.5 hours for us). We had a great cabin in some beautiful fall mountains to share. Saturday we drove to Mt. Rushmore and enjoyed the path around the base of the monument.
Mom's can't have a picture without some little people hanging on close by.

We 3 (really 4, but my oldest cousin couldn't make it) have become. . .
We 17!!!!!
What a crowd and mostly happy with each other for the weekend.

It was really sunny so we are all squinty eyed for our Mt. Mushmore (said by Mason) picture.

"LIR"-the trio
"Lydia, Isabelle and Rylie"
They were never far from each other and made up some fun things to do together. They had triplet hair dos for the weekend and with their blond hair really looked related.

After the monument we went for a drive through the mountains. Needles highway was the best place. There were some very different rock formations. Our fearless leader made the executive decision to turn around at one point and walk around this tunnel that we had just driven through. It was a great decision for the kids to get out of the cars and enjoy some rock climbing. For such a young crowd we sure didn't miss much of the rocks. They could go anywhere and sometimes their parents were the slow ones.

This was the last decent and the strong and daring husbands lined up down the rocks to lift each child and wife down one by one.

Sunday, Camie found this great hike to some waterfalls for us. It was just the right distance to wear the little legs out for naps. Plus it was pretty.
