Color Run

One Saturday the kids and I went to a "color run" to cheer for some of our friends.  The runners wear white and through out the course people can throw powdered color at them as they go by.  We waited at the finish line and the kids played in the festive decorations while we waited.

Abbie loved these streamers the most and danced and danced in them in her own little world for a long time.

Tirzah woke up with a swollen shut eye from a mosquitoe bite on her eyelid.  She looked so funny, but didn't seem to be bothered by it.  It was swollen shut for two days!

For about the first 10 minutes the kids just watch the runners get hit with the colored powder as they came in.  Little by little the kids edged closer and closer to the color buckets and soon the volunteers invited them to come throw color with them.  They started out pretty innocently but by the end they were covered, head to toe, with color.

I had no idea we would join the color mess and had nothing to cover the seats in the car.  We had to play on the playground for quite a while before getting in the car to let as much powder fall off as possible.
Rylie's friend Emily ran in the race.
He really is covered with powder on every inch of his body.

Emily stood back for just a minute before deciding to join the mess.
More friends that we cheered on in the race.
