First you have to pick the perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. One with no scratches or scratches in just the right places. One you can carry by yourself. And just the right color.
Here is Rylie's

Take a family picture to remember the fun trip to the pumpkin patch.

Then take it home to gut. Dad's are the best helpers for this so make sure you do it when he is home. Don't forget to save the seeds for Mom to bake.

Cut your pumpkin lid in a cool shape so you can get it back on just right. We like stars the best.

Then refuse to carve the pumpkin and insist on painting it instead. (Don't know where that came from, but it is much more kid friendly!) And finally place them in a strategic place outside for visitors to admire.

They are so cute! I loved the painting idea. Can't wait to see you guys.
What a great looking family! I can't believe our cute chubby girls have thinned out so much. I was looking at that picture of Riley and one of Elia. Our girls are growing up!
What a great idea to paint the pumpkins! While we (AKA Mom) were/was carving our pumpkins, Bentley kept making comments about how he didn't get to do anything. I had to keep pointing out all that he was doing: designing, scooping... hum. I think we'll try the painting idea next year:)
What a cute family!
